After Noticing Something Suspicious On Break, Employee Takes Immediate Action That Saves Young Boys Life

An Alice boy is back home with his family after authorities say he was abducted from his home Wednesday night.

The story of how that little boy was rescued is extraordinary. The hero … is an alert pizza shop employee.

It started as a regular day on the job for Courtney Best, who works at the Papa Murphey’s pizza shop in Hamlin Shopping Center. When it was time for Courtney to take her smoke break, she decided to step outside in front of the shop instead of out back like she usually does.

That one, simple change led to the rescue of a little boy and the capture of a suspected kidnapper.

“I stepped outside, I was standing by the trash can and I seen a white car pull up and I just happen to take my phone with me cause we don’t look at our phones at work, and I looked down and I saw ‘white Dodge Avenger amber alert’, and I was like, nah, that’s not him,” said Courtney. “The man was walking across the parking lot looking at me … cause I was the only person out here, with the little boy and the little boy looked scared and I was like no, that’s not him.”

It was him. And he had the missing boy. The two walked into a nearby dollar store. Courtney says her gut was telling her she had to do something.
