A 19-year-old girl was tragically killed while attempting to take a selfie by some railroad tracks at a particularly picturesque stretch of track near the city of Foshan in Guangdong province.

According to NetEase, the spot is said to be a popular tourist destination during the spring, with blooming flowers and passing trains providing amazing backdrops for scenic pictures. As long as you don’t get too close.

Despite receiving several warnings from concerned bystanders, the girl persisted in taking her dangerous selfies, and appears to have been struck from behind by a speed train, according to rather graphic reports. She was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

Sadly, this isn’t an isolated incident, in 2014, two idiots in Nanjing stood on the railroad tracks to take some pictures, causing two trains to stop. They were both detained for five days. Last year, a Zhejiang man fell to death from a cliff while trying to take some extreme selfies of his own.

Sigh.
