Lexington police are investigating Tuesday after finding a man in the front yard of a home on Kildare Court.

William J. Redd, 40, has been charged with fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, and violating a domestic violence order.

Lexington police spokeswoman Brenna Angel said the shooting was an isolated incident that involved domestic violence. Investigators say Redd was shot by his former girlfriend in self-defense.



Police Reed just before 7 a.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived, they found him laying in the front yard of a home in the 500 block of Kildare Court. He had been shot multiple times.

Reed was taken to University of Kentucky Hospital, where, police say he was conscious, but in serious condition.

I suppose bullets work better than that piece of paper!
