“Go camping in Africa,” they said. “It will be fun,” they said…
Terrifying video below:
(USA TODAY, KHOU) – This is wild: A tourist’s footage from an African safari shows three lions licking the outside of her tent—as she watches from inside.
Francie Lubbe was camping in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, which straddles the South Africa-Botswana border, when two thirsty lionesses began licking water droplets from the outside of her tent, the Mirror reported.
What a privilege,” wrote Lubbe on Facebook, where she posted the video. She noted that the door of her tent “was open” but that the lions “decided not to enter.”
The video, filmed May 9, shows the big cats lapping up water from the previous night’s rain. Lubbe was inside the tent, watching in awe as the lions pressed their faces up against the tent’s clear mesh screen.
Lubbe wrote that the lions made no noise and had no smell, and that one even appeared frightened after catching sight of a human.
“We tried to be very quiet (so as) not to disturb them,” Lubbe noted. “Yes it was very special.”
Lubbe also posted some awe-inspiring photos of the lions, including one of a cat peering over a barbecue grill.
