China releases definitive list of 9 kinds of bad behavior that will get you put on tourism blacklist
No more confusion. No more excuses. The China National Tourist Administration has finally released a clear-cut list of things that Chinese tourists traveling domestically and abroad should not do. Disobey, and you will have the dishonor of getting your name on the dreaded blacklist.
Those unlucky souls will be barred from leaving China for two years, though it could stay on their record for up to five years, depending on the severity of the violation.
We’ve had the Four Comprehensives, the Three Represents and now presenting the Nine Don’ts, with some pictures to help you in case you’re still confused:
1) Interfering with the operation and safety of aircraft or public transport.
2) Damaging public facilities.
3) Offending local traditions, cultures or living habits.
4) Destroying cultural and historical relics.
5) Participating in gambling, prostitution or drug use.
6) Threatening public, personal or property safety.
8) Perpetuating “low-taste or superstitious” ideas.
9) Other behavior that causes a negative impact.
This issuance comes just after the city of Shanghai released its own etiquette guide in preparation for the upcoming opening of Shanghai Disneyland. Sadly, neither are so condescendingly illustrated like those in Japan.
