[WATCH] Did Trump REALLY Say That About ‘Well-Educated Blacks’ In Pre-Political Interview?

I cannot believe he said it! Will it help him or hurt him?

Say what now?

The pre-political archives of Donald Trump have unveiled some very…unusual views andstatements that the real estate mogul-turned-presidential candidate has put forward over the years. For those concerned with the racially-charged aspect of the presumptive GOP nominee, a new video clip has emerged that shows Trump talking about how well his life would’ve gone if he were an African-American.

Mother Jones came across an old interview Trump gave in 1989 for an NBC discussion about race in America. Trump said that a “well-educated black” has an advantage over a “well-educated white” when it comes to jobs (though he acknowledged some people would say the opposite was true in those days.)

Eventually, Trump decided to say this:

“I’ve said on occasion, even about myself, if I were starting off today I would love to be a well-educated black because I really believe they do have an actual advantage today.”

Spike Lee, the noted film director who actually is black, weighed in later in that program, and since “garbage” was the nicest word Lee had to say about Trump’s comments, Lee clearly was not impressed. Seems like some things don’t change over time.
