A South Carolina resident decided to poke some fun at the reporter who earlier this week described the horror of firing an AR-15. Since it was posted, it has been spreading like wildfire across social media.
According to Fox Carolina:
[VIDEO] South Carolina Residents Create Parody Video Of Reporter Firing AR-15.
The trio, nicknamed “The 413 Lads” after the highway in Belton, is comprised of Kynn Tribble, Jason Erskine and Jeffrey Trahan. Tribble said the idea for the video came from a New York Daily News article where journalist Gersh Kuntzman wrote he experienced a “temporary form of PTSD” after firing an AR-15 for the first time.
The article was released three days after Omar Mateen opened fire at an LGBT nightclub in Orlando, Fla., killing 49 victims and injuring even more.
The controversial article received mixed responses from gun control and gun rights advocates. Kuntzman has also since apologized for claiming to have post-traumatic stress disorder.
The 413 Lads’ video has received more than 131,000 views on YouTube since it was posted on Monday. The description of the video reads, “Of course this is a parody of the classic liberal reporter that claimed to have PTSD after shooting an AR-15 for the first time. Our video shows what most likely happened…”
“‘We didn’t expect the video to go viral,” Tribble said. “It’s on every website.”
Tribble and Erskine are both Army veterans who met while in the service.
“PTSD is a serious disorder,” Tribble said. “We are just trying to roast the reporter, we are not making light of PTSD.”
He said The 413 Lads plan to make more videos in the future.
