HENDERSON, NEVADA — A former nursing student has been hailed a hero after she rushed to help a man gunned down outside a Wendy’s restaurant in Henderson, Nevada on Monday.
Julie Zweifel was eating at a nearby restaurant when she heard gunshots and rushed outside to see what had happened.
Two men were shot in the Wendy’s parking lot after their group of four got in a beef with two other men, KSNV News3LV reported.
Super Julie kept one of the victims calm and used a towel to stop the bleeding.
“I just saw him. My focus was him completely,” Zweifel told KSNV News3LV.
“We needed to get some towels and see where the gunshots were and help him and stop the bleeding until the ambulance got there.”
The 20-year-old man helped by Julie had less serious wounds but the other victim is said to be in an extremely critical condition. Both the men remain in hospital, according to KSNV News3LV.
Police are searching for the two suspects and hope the man saved by Julie will be able to identify them.
