How did he ever stuff himself in that bag in the first place?
Swiss police recently apprehended a man trying to enter the country illegally inside of a small carry-on suitcase.
Authorities in Switzerland were alerted by their Italian counterparts that two Eritrean nationals were attempting to illegally enter the country. Switzerland and Italy are both members of the Schengen Area, a coalition of 26 European countries that have common visa policies. As such, movement between the two borders is a fairly easy proposition.
The two Eritreans bordered a train in Milan, hoping to reach the United Kingdom. The train was stopped in Chiasso just inside Switzerland, after passengers on the train alerted a train guard to strange noises coming from one of suitcases on the train. When the train was stopped, the carry-on was left behind while the other Eritrean national fled to hide in a bathroom. The suitcase was removed from the train and placed on an adjacent platform. Police watched incredulously as a six foot tall man extricated himself from the small bag.
