BREAKING: Hostage Situation Explodes; Police Officer Shot And SWAT Is Now Moving In

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ala. — A police officer has been shot in Randolph County on Saturday while a suspect barricaded himself in a building with a hostage.

The injured police officer has been transported to a local hospital.

A SWAT team has now arrived on scene.

The exact condition of the officer is not yet known.



Heflin law enforcement and Alabama law enforcement agency are currently assisting at the scene.

The city of Heflin police department confirmed via Facebook that the officer had been shot.

According to local media, the suspect is now dead and the hostage has been safely rescued.
