They thought his behavior was odd and quite scary just prior to the shooting…

The anti-cop gunman who killed five Dallas police officers was seen by neighbors doing military-style training in his backyard before he went on his deadly ambush.
One neighboring family told the Dallas Morning News that they had witnessed Micah Xavier Johnson, an Army reservist, performing what looked like military combat exercises in the yard of the Mesquite, Tex., home where he lived with family.
Johnson, 25, executed five Dallas police officers and wounded 14 others using an SKS semi-automatic assault rifle and a handgun Thursday night, after he ambushed an otherwise peaceful anti-police brutality rally in downtown Dallas organized in response to the fatal police shootings of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, La., and Philando Castile in Falcon Heights, Minn.
Following several hours of negotiations, Dallas police killed Johnson with a bomb-delivering robot while he crouched in a downtown parking garage.
Before the cop killer was taken down, he revealed to police that he was bent on killing “white officers” in reaction to recent police shootings of black men elsewhere in the country, but he did not claim allegiance to any political or terrorist organization.
He has shown support for several groups associated with black nationalism, including the Black Riders Liberation Party and the New Black Panther Party, according to his social media presence.
Johnson “was always very affected by the police stuff and had very strong feelings about being black,” Caitlyn Lennon, 27, a friend and former co-worker at a sandwich shop told the Dallas Morning News.
The bloodthirsty reservist was discharged from the Army in 2015 for reasons that Pentagon records do not reveal, the Dallas Morning News reported.
A military lawyer for Johnson told the paper that he had been accused of sexually harassing a female soldier and had to leave the service.
A former bunkmate and fellow reservist, Wells Newsome, wrote on Facebook that Johnson got caught “stealing girls’ panties” while he was in the Army.
One family friend said that he wasn’t the same person when he returned from war.
“He was withdrawn, didn’t want to talk to people anymore, didn’t believe in God anymore,” Myrtle Booker, 62, who knew his mother from church, told the Dallas Morning News.
“But all that hating white people — no, we didn’t know any of that.”
