A Northern California woman and her boyfriend have been accused of repeatedly molesting and videotaping the two young girls the woman was babysitting.
Cops say that Brittney Mae Lyon, 22, of Escondido, took her two young charges to the upscale Carlsbad home of her boyfriend, Samuel Cabrera Jr., also 22, and then videotaped as he molested the seven-year-old girls, according to the LA Times.
The pair pleaded not guilty on Friday after being arrested on Wednesday. They are charged with multiple counts, including conspiracy to molest, conspiracy to kidnap for the purposes of molestation, three counts of child molestation and forcible lewd acts on a child.
They each face life in prison.
Authorities discovered ‘a ton of recorded material’ said Carlsbad police Lieutenant Marc Reno.
The little girls were not related and lived in different towns, say police.
One of them was developmentally delayed in speech and unable to communicate her alleged abuse.
‘This poor little child was unable to let her parents know, with any degree of specificity, what was going on,’ said prosecutor Breton, according to KGTV.
The allegations were uncovered when the other girl told her mother what she said happened to her, prompting her mom to call police.
Investigations are looking into the possibility that the alleged molestation went back two years.
Police searched a home on Greenwood Drive in Carlsbad, where Cabrera lived with his aunt and uncle, according to KGTV.
Police say the search turned up camera equipment, computers, hard drives, and video sticks.
