Militants of the Islamic State group downed a fighter plane recently, and then killed the pilot and crucified the body. The incident is believed to have taken place in the Deir Ezzor province in eastern Syria.
The al Amaq news agency, which leans heavily towards the Islamic State group, also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (Isis) or the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil), released a video of the incident which shows the burning remains of the plane strewn over a hillside, with black smoke billowing from them.
Isis militants then crucified the pilot’s body, and placed a model aircraft atop the cross.
