Gotta catch ’em all – ALL THE BULLETS!
LAS VEGAS — An attempted armed robbery involving a group of people playing Pokémon Go ended in a shootout at a Las Vegas park early on Monday.
Las Vegas police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said the shooting left a Pokémon player and the would-be robber in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to an Associated Press report.
Around 4 a.m., a group of six people were out at a public park playing the popular mobile phone app.
Authorities said Elvis Campos, 18, and a young driver drove up to the players in an SUV and demanded their possessions at gunpoint.
One of the Pokémon Go players, who has a concealed carry permit, pulled out his own gun and both parties exchanged fire, according to the AP.
One player was shot in the stomach, although Meltzer said it’s unclear if that person was the one with the concealed carry permit.
The aspiring robber was also treated at the hospital for a gunshot wound, the AP reported.
