As has been clear this Olympic season, the competition is fierce and the performances have been intense, and one Armenian weightlifter’s dreams of glory are over after he bit off more than he could chew. Andranik Karapetyan, the reigning European champion in 77 kilogram weightlifting, was in the middle of an event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio when his winning streak came to a quick — and painful — halt. On his second attempt at the 195Kg weightlifting challenge, his elbow popped and that was all for his 2016 dreams of Olympic gold. Watch the painful video below.
