Bernie Sanders may have campaigned for the proletariat but he is living the life of the bourgeoisie.
The Vermont Senator is settling down nicely in an expensive new lake house since losing the hotly contested Democratic nomination to Hillary Clinton. According to Seven Days, a news publication in Vermont which originally broke the story:
[Sanders] plopped down nearly $600,000 on a camp in North Hero.
Sanders’ new waterfront crib has four bedrooms and 500 feet of Lake Champlain beachfront on the east side of the island — facing Vermont, not New York. The Bern will keep his home in Burlington and use the new camp seasonally.
That is all well and good, but what does this fabled 1% home actually look like? Well for those of you not familiar with Vermont, New Hero is located about here:
Cross-referencing the information from reports about the home with the real estate site Zillow, one is able to easily locate and observe the very woody, quilted, chicken-laced digs of America’s favorite Larry David impersonator.
The home is listed on the site as having been sold for $575,000.
At first glance, the home looks like a happy cottage.
Look, it has a little American flag!
Here it is from another angle.
Look: It comes with a broom and a rocking chair. Perfect for Bernie.
