Speaking on Fox News Tuesday, retired Lt. Col. Allen West issued a multi-point plan on how San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick could make amends for having disrespected the national anthem and thus those who have served in the military.
“First and foremost, he should give a humble apology to this country and to the men and women who have served,” West began, according to The Daily Caller. “I think he should take a hiatus from the NFL for the Football Province.”
“He can go over to Helmand Province in Afghanistan and be there with those men and women who are protecting his rights and his freedoms and affording his privilege to be able to be a multi-millionaire one-percenter,” he continued. “Throw the football with them. If he does something like that, I think the American people will understand.”

That sounded like a terrific plan, though the likelihood of Kaepernick doing any of that seemed slim, especially given his apparently lack of love or respect for America.
