Conservatives were appalled when the FBI refused to recommend charges be brought against Hillary Clinton for her mishandling of classified information while Secretary of State. Now, House Republicans are doing what must be done to hold those accountable who let the American people down.
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the Judiciary Committee have subpoenaed officials, including FBI Director James Comey, to testify about the email scandal, seeing as they didn’t do their job the first time around.
According to Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, Comey is slated to appear in front of the House Judiciary Committee next week. Patrick Kennedy, the State Department official who oversees day-to-day operations at the agency, will testify in front of the Oversight Committee this week.
“We want to know from the State Department how they misled the American public for so long,” said Chaffetz.
This could not be happening at a worse time for Hillary Clinton, as she tries desperately to out-campaign Donald Trump for the presidency. Such a feat has already been nearly impossible for the Democratic nominee, as she deals with looming health issues whilst trying to hide said issues from the media.
With the election just weeks away, the last thing Hillary needs is another hearing on her email scandal, but perhaps she should have thought about that before she put national security at risk.
