2 female suicide bombers were killed before they reached their terror target, police in Nigeria said.
Borno State Police said that the incident unfolded around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, near a busy market in Auno, Konduga.
According to the police investigation, the suicide bombers were on a mission to blow themselves up at the Maiduguri Market.
Seven people were injured as a result of the explosion, and they were transported to the Maiduguri General Hospital for treatment.
The suicide bombers were guided by a member of the Boko Haram terror group.
Police said that as a result of the bombing attempt, they have intensified their stop and frisk program to prevent terrorists from entering the Maiduguri Market.
