Earlier, we reported that Scott’s wife had released her own cellphone video of the event.

BREAKING: Keith Scott’s Wife Releases Her Cellphone VIDEO Of Shooting

GAMECHANGER: This graphic video shows the event through the eyes of Keith Scott’s wife, Rakeyia.

Keith Scott’s family has released a video of police officers fatally shooting him that was recorded by his wife, who was talking to police from a distance.

The footage, taken by Scott’s wife, does not clearly show the exact moment he was shot by police on Tuesday. Scott is seen on the ground moments after the shots were fired and surrounded by officers.

“He better not be f—ing dead, he better not be f—ing dead,” Scott’s wife can be heard shouting at the police officers. “He better live, he better live!”

The killing of Scott, 43, sparked three nights of fiery protests and violent clashes between protesters and law enforcement. Activists and the Scott family have pressed city officials to release bodycam or dashcam footage of the fatal encounter, which reignited debates about race and policing nationwide.

In the footage obtained by NBC News, Scott’s wife, Rakeyia Scott, can be heard saying, “Don’t shoot him, don’t shoot him” as police appear to converge on a white pick-up truck in the parking lot of a condominium complex. “He has no weapon — don’t shoot him!”

Rakeyia Scott can be heard urging her husband to comply with the officers who had instructed her husband to “drop the gun, drop the gun.”

“Keith, don’t let them break the windows! Come on out of the car,” she can be heard yelling, “Keith, don’t do it!”

“Keith, Keith, Keith — don’t you do it!”

It’s at that moment that four gunshots can be heard, as Scott’s wife screams: “Did you shoot him? Did you shoot him?”

Of course, opinions vary in a controversial, tragic event like this:

NAACP Leader On Keith Scott: ‘It Really Doesn’t Matter If He Had a Gun’

A local NAACP leader told CNN’s Carol Costello had some shocking words on Thursday. Many are in disgust and disbelief.

This leader said that it didn’t actually matter whether or not black Charlotte man Keith Scott had a gun on him when he was shot and killed by police.

Scott’s death led to protests and violence for the past two days, after his family reported that he was holding a book when he died. Charlotte police have called that false, saying that police body camera footage shows he was brandishing a gun and that they recovered a weapon from the scene.

But the president of the Charlotte chapter of the NAACP Corine Mack said ultimately it didn’t matter. “I think the most important part is the contrast in him having a book versus a gun. But in my mind and in most of the community’s mind, it really doesn’t matter if he had a gun,” she said.
