The man the FBI “secretly” arrested even worked for the same contractor as Snowden!
A contractor for the National Security Agency has been arrested, supposedly “in secret,” by the FBI. It is suspected that the high-tech contractor stole and revealed malware that is used to hack the networks of foreign governments.
In August, NSA-owned classified computer code appeared online as being for sale. A hacking organization called Shadowbrokers offered up the entire program to potential buyers. The US government blamed the entire breach on Russian hackers. Edward Snowden went public and confirmed that the leaked software is real and has been in use by the NSA for some time.

Snowden is clearly interested and following the story of the latest arrest.
This is huge. Did the FBI secretly arrest the person behind the reports NSA sat on huge flaws in US products? https://t.co/otgOwB5efm

The New York Times reported that the man was arrested in recent weeks, citing unnamed government officials as sources. The man’s name is Hal Martin.
Contractor is called Hal Martin, a Navy veteran, his attorney confirms. First appeared in court in late August. Charges to be unsealed soon. https://t.co/g40YOLsVCH

Martin is a Navy veteran who worked for Booze Allen Hamilton, the former employer of infamous NSA whistle blower Edward Snowden.
So Booz got repawned four months after Snowden’s leaks?
Maybe, um, take cyberattacks in-house? pic.twitter.com/3FrpMcgGjo

Martin’s LinkedIn profile describes him as a “Technical Advisor & Investigator on Offensive Cyber issues” for the Department of Defense since July 2015, “in pursuit of program oversight, management excellence, and optimal outcomes on issues for various Cyber related Initiatives across DoD and the IC [intelligence community].”
The DOJ did confirm that Martin was arrested on August 27th.
