[Watch] Irate Mom Responds When School Forces Islam on Her Child

As evidence of how far our nation has fallen under anti-American leadership and a politically correct liberal agenda, a disturbing new trend of removing all religion from schools except for Islam has begun to take place.

A Tennessee mom finally stepped up against the school board and let them have it after her daughter was punished for not completing the required assignments on Islam. And of course, she was brushed off and given excuses.

How is it that when Christians fight for equality, they are brushed off. If a Muslim does the exact same thing, they get what they want. It’s a sick double standard that will destroy America if we don’t stop it.

Opposing Views has the full story:

Michelle Edmisten told the Sullivan County Board of Education in Blountville, Tennessee, on Oct. 3 that she wants a textbook removed because it teaches basic lessons about Islam at Bluff City Middle School where her daughter attends (video below).

“It is time as parents, teachers, and administrators, we stand up and take back our families, our schools, and our country,” Edmisten told the school board, notes WJHL.

It’s not clear what exactly Edmisten believes the country, families and schools need to be taken back from, but the mom said her daughter felt some assignments about Islamic beliefs violated her Christian beliefs, so she (daughter) refused to do some of the school work and got failing marks.

Some of the assignment questions appeared to be basic world history: “Islam’s holy book is called the _________,” “List the five pillars of Islam,” and, “After the death of Muhammed, did the Muslim empire spread or get smaller?”

 Edmisten told the news station:

I would like to see the Pearson book yanked from the school immediately. I would like to see parents, Christians, veterans, anyone that’s anyone, stand up for this fight … How can I, as a Christian, say that I have these values? And I want to instill these values in my daughter, and then say its OK go ahead and do it.

It’s not clear how learning the basics of Islam violates Christian values as numerous non-Christian religions and practices are mentioned throughout the Bible.

“It’s not like we have the option to get rid of the book, and get a book that don’t have those standards, so then the question becomes, can we find a textbook that is that much different, and is it worth it,” Edmisten told the school board.

School board member Mark Ireson called the textbook to be removed “because it does not represent the values of the county,” notes Kingsport Times-News.

It’s not clear what “values” Ireson was referring to, but school board officials said there is a protocol that has to be followed for such an action: a parent has to fill out a form; a committee is formed; the issue has to be brought up at a future board meeting.

“I will not give up this fight,” Edmisten told the school board. “Right this wrong tonight.”

“My child’s personal religious beliefs were violated,” Edmisten added. “Those are zeros that we proudly took and we will not compromise.”

Edmisten insisted, “It’s not age appropriate.”
