UPDATE: LAPD reports that they pulled over a car with paper license plate yesterday, and concluded that the car was stolen when the driver and passenger fled on foot.
A chase ensued, and police shot and killed Carnell Snell Junior, a nineteen-year-old. A handgun was recovered at the scene. The name of the officer who fired has not been released yet.
Protesters gathered during the night in Los Angeles, with no violence being reported at this time.

At least one is dead and another injured after an officer-involved shooting in South Los Angeles. Police are in riot gear and the area has been sealed.
The incident began as a police chase around 1 p.m., however it is not clear if the shooting occurred as a result of the chase.

According to Laist.com, the deceased is a teen-ager. No other details are available at this time.
