Is she riding on a garbage truck? It does seem fitting, doesn’t it?
Lady Gaga showed up at Trump Tower on Wednesday morning with a message to send. This is America, where she has the right to say whatever she wants. There is no requirement in Federal Law that says messages like hers have to make sense. They can be as absurd and ridiculous as desired. I guess if your name is Gaga, absurd and ridiculous go with the territory.
It appears that the famous singer’s Tuesday night protest on Twitter was not enough to satisfy her. As it became evident that Donald Trump would become the next President, Lady Gaga Tweeted, “In a room full of hope, we will be heard. Stand up for kindness, equality, and love. Nothing will stop us. Say a prayer for America.”
It is a fine message, actually, but one has to wonder: How can anyone associate hope, kindness, equality, or love with Hillary Clinton? WikiLeaks and others debunked those myths a while back.
Earlier in the week, Lady Gaga spoke at a Hillary Clinton rally:
“She has a career in politics that spans decades of experience, education, leadership, and wisdom. She’s ready to be president,” she said. “She kept going and she kept fighting for women’s rights. She kept fighting for the care of our children. She kept fighting for those that are in need.”
I did not see the word “corruption” appear once in that quote, did you?
In victory, Donald Trump was exceedingly gracious in speaking of Clinton himself. Though he has called for jail time for the former Secretary of State, his acceptance speech included the words, “deep debt of gratitude” for Hillary Clinton’s “years of hard work.”
Again, Lady Gaga has the right to protest.
Those of us who know better have the right to point out absurdity, as well.
