Michigan ended up so close. Now we know the historic results!
Worried about a Michigan recount? Fear not!
BREAKING: Federal judge lifts order that had allowed Michigan’s recount, effectively ending it.
— The Associated Press (@AP) December 8, 2016
The Judge states that Jill Stein is not an “aggrieved candidate,” therefore a costly $5 million recount is not necessary. After all, Stein only got less than 1% of the overall vote.
So, where does Michigan stand? Read on…
Most of us will not forget the Election of 2016. After months of hacking, intense accusations, and controversial debates, November 8th arrived, and most of us thought that Hillary had the system rigged and in the bag.
During the morning and afternoon of November 8th, I spent time researching early results on line, and like many people, sensed that something unusual was happening. Trump was doing well in Florida, a key indicator.
By the evening, the mainstream media cranked up their spin machine, and started calling states like Florida “too close to call” but “leaning Hillary.”
I turned the television off and took care of my family.
My phone rang in the other room at midnight and I was enticed to turn on the television and watch the most bizarre ending to an Election Day that I have ever seen.
Trump was starting to turn the corner while liberals on tv were melting down.
John Pedestal told Hillary supporters to go home and wait for the final tallies, then the Hillary Clinton Campaign placed a bizarre concession call.
The entire bizarre day finished with Trump’s acceptance speech and that classic song by The Rolling Stones, “You can’t always get what you want…”
Today, we know that a little more history has been made.
The state of Michigan, that has not gone Republican since 1988, just finished its recount.
Here are the totals:
Trump won Michigan by 10,704.
The vote totals that will be submitted to Michigan’s Canvassers Board for certification on November 28 are:
Donald J. Trump, Republican: 2,279,543
Hillary Clinton, Democratic: 2,268,839
Gary Johnson, Libertarian: 172,136
Jill Stein, Green: 51,463
Darrell L. Castle, U.S. Taxpayers: 16,139
Evan McMullin, write-in: 8,177
Emidio Mimi Soltysik, Natural Law: 2,209
Michael Maturen, write-in: 517
Tom Hoefling, write-in: 95
Laurence Kotlikoff, write-in: 87
Ben Hartnell, write-in: 39
Monica Moorehead, write-in: 30
Cherunda Fox, write-in: 10
Trump now has 306 electoral votes (including Michigan’s 16) to 232 for Clinton and is the first
Republican to carry the state since the 1980’s!
