Buying Gas From A Station On THIS LIST Will Save Your Car And Your Wallet

After only 4,000 miles of driving, the problems for your car can add up.

Laboratory testing shows that their are significant differences in gasoline quality, nationwide. Key differences are in the little-known engine-cleaning additives that end up being worth a few extra pennies in the beginning.

The Environmental Protection Agency, starting in 1996, mandated a minimum level of detergent for all fuel sold. There are so-called “Top Tier” brands than have an enhanced level of engine-cleaning additives.

Using non-Top Tier gas caused 19 times more filthy engine deposits, in the study, after only 4,000 miles of driving.

“AAA was surprised to learn the extent to which detergent additives impact gasoline quality,” said John Nielsen, AAA’s managing director of Automotive Engineering and Repair. “Americans are six times more likely to choose a gas station based on the price of gasoline rather than the quality of the fuel,” said Nielsen. “Since TOP TIER gasoline is widely available and only an average of three cents more per gallon, AAA urges drivers to reconsider their priorities when selecting a gas station.”

With location and price being the two deciding factors for most Americans, many of us will need to change our driving habits to find higher-quality gasoline.

The good news: Top Tier brands are all over the place! Check the list below to find their locations near you. The list is up-to-date as of November 2016.
