Two Officers Shot, College On Lockdown, Manhunt Underway

Reportedly, at least one is dead. Police are continuing their search.

A manhunt is underway near Georgia Southwestern State College. Two officer have been shot, one from the Americus Georgia Police Department and the other from the College.

Police are searching for a man named Minguell Kennedy Lambrick who is 32-years-old. The shooting incident is said to have occurred at Country Club Estates apartments, with few other details being available at this time.

“A shooting has taken place off campus near the south side of the Griffin Bell Golf Course,” a statement from GSS said. “Students, faculty and staff should remain in their present location until further notice.”

The College is on lockdown, with students being advised to stay away from doors and windows.
