Share X Facebook Email

Kiondre Zachary, 22, used a towel in attempt to strangle Hernandez, 31, a prison guard in front of other inmates at the Falkenburg Road Jail in Florida on Tuesday. The incident was captured on surveillance footage.

The inmate used the towel as a makeshift rope, wrapping the towel around Hernandez’s neck in an unprovoked attack where he was able to escape the attempted strangling. Zachary tries another failed attempt to attack the deputy by punching him, that’s when the other inmates stepped in and stopped their inmate from attacking Hernandez.

Deputy Hernandez, who came out from the attack with a twisted ankle, bruised knees and abrasions to the neck, is known for his overall professionalism and respect towards the inmates on a daily basis causing them to come to the deputy’s aid preventing him from being seriously injured.

Zachary, who did not procure any injury, is originally detained in prison for burglary. He’s now charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer after attacking the prison guard and was transferred to an isolation cell.
