Texas Police are looking for any lead in helping identify “baby Doe” who’s decomposing remains were found in a suitcase while a man was mowing his property.

According to Fox News, Baby Doe was found inside a suitcase that a man mowing his pasture stumbled upon several months ago. The box contained the skeletal remains of a child and a pink dress, which was covered in butterflies and flowers, along with a note that read: “Follow your dreams.”

It’s been six months since the suitcase was found, but police are still no closer to finding out Baby Doe’s identity. “This child belonged to somebody,” Madison County Sheriff Travis Neeley told Fox News earlier this week.

“It’s heartless,” Neeley said. “This child had a family — a mother and a father. We want to know what happened.” By the time the baby’s remains were discovered on September 17, they had already been badly decomposed.

According to investigators, the child’s skull and bones were wrapped inside two white plastic garbage bags. Police say that inside the suitcase, they also found a pair of small white socks, a size 4T pink dress with the brand label “Mon Petit,” and a disposable diaper.

Investigators also located a feeding tube inside the suitcase. Police have revealed that it was labeled with the code: Mic-Key 14FR. While Neeley has since said he believes the child was likely a girl, only a DNA test can say for sure.

A dental examination reportedly places the child between 2 and 5 years old. The remains do not match any missing children in the town or surrounding counties, and police say there was no apparent trauma to the bones.

“I don’t think the child was from the area,” Neeley said.
