A Wheel of Fortune contestant could be the worst game show player ever after he failed to take home the prize money – despite having just one letter to guess.
The man, identified only as Kevin, was given the opportunity to fill in the one remaining blank to name a popular ‘title’. But as he looked at the clue: “A Streetcar Nam_d Desire”, Kevin just couldn’t fathom the letter he was missing.
Instead, Kevin, who had accumulated $1,600 (£1,280) and had added $600 (£481) more with his last spin of the wheel managed to guess the letter incorrectly, assuming ‘K’ to spell ‘naked’ was correct.
Host Pat Sajak simply said: “No,” and appeared shocked as he moved on to give the winning opportunity to the next contestant. Lisa, who was playing for $1,000 (£802), managed to guess correctly and scoop the jackpot. And of course, the answer was ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’, a play written in 1947 by Tennessee Williams , which was later adapted into a film in the 1950s.
