Next time you complain about your food being too cold or that there’s something missing from your order, just think about where that complaint will lead to.
Tarryn McDowall had ordered chicken satay from a local restaurant via HungryHouse but was disappointed when Thai green curry turned up instead.
Complaining to the customer service team on the website, she started talking to a nice young man named John, based in Berlin, who couldn’t really help with her problem as the restaurant was adamant the dish should be green.
The chat got a little flirtatious, he offered to take her out for some satay and the pair really hit it off.
He even confessed he “wanted to write something really dirty than” but realized he was at work so stopped himself.
After the flirty chat, Tarryn told Mirror Online: “Would really like to say yes but I didn’t receive his details so was unable to contact him.
“It would be awesome to get in touch with John again.”
Her wish was granted when HungryHouse flew John over from Berlin to deliver a portion of the chicken satay which first brought them together.
Tarryn said: “It was amazing to finally meet John, he’s such a nice guy and kept cracking a lot of ‘nutty’ jokes.
“It felt really special to be delivered the takeaway in person, we are definitely going to stay in touch and who knows what may happen”.
John commented: “I’m usually sat behind a computer dealing with customer’s requests and complaints and so it’s great to be reconnected with Tarryn and quite literally go the extra mile to deliver the right order”.
