A former substitute teacher is now facing charges after having sex with her student after her husband plied the teen with alcohol.
Authorities have arrested Jessica Storer, 28 years old, and her husband, Derrick Storer, 33-years old, after inviting an 18-year old student to their home where the incident occurred.
According to investigation, the teen Jessica had sex with was a student at Pandora-Gilboa High School where she had worked as a substitute teacher at least five times where she befriended the victim. Jessica and her husband Derrick invited the teen evening on November 25 at the couples Pandora home. Derrick plied the teen with alcohol until the teen got drunk. The sexual intercourse between Jessica and the teen occurred early morning on November 26.
Police Chief Scott Stant arrested Storer last December 21 after the teen told the authorities that he had sex with his teacher at her home after being intoxicated.
Derrick Storer, 33, pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree misdemeanor furnishing alcohol to a minor and could face up to 6 months in jail.
Assistant Putnam County Prosecutor Lilly Shun said, “Mrs Storer engaged in sexual intercourse with the student while he was still under the influence of alcohol.”
Storer immediately responded that the minor was not intoxicated at the time of the incident. Shun responded that the student had already admitted that he was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
Judge Randall Basinger asked Storer what happened.
Storer replied, “I was engaged in sexual conduct with an 18-year-old student.
Six counts of giving alcohol to a minor were dismissed in a plea deal at Putnam County Court. But she will have to register as a sex offender for life.
Jessica Storer will be sentenced after the judge gets a background report on her and that would be sometime in the near future.
