Estella Havisham decided to teach her son a hard lesson after he decided he didn’t need her anymore.
Havisham’s son, Aaron, had become popular enough on YouTube to make money from his videos. His recent fame has also gone to his head, according to his mother, who said she’s been having trouble with him becoming defiant and disrespectful.
To combat the situation, Havisham made a “contract” for her son that spelled out very specific details for him, while making a point about respect and responsibility. Here’s the contract Havisham made for her son:
Havisham posted the contract online back in 2015, which received more attention than she expected — but the best response was from her soon, who approached her later that night and wanted to talk things out.
“Later, that same night, he came back into my room and sat on the foot of my bed and asked if we could talk,” Havisham posted on social media. “He wanted to know how he could earn things back.”
Havisham said her son did indeed earn back much of what was taken from him and he also has a better understanding of gratitude and how the real world works.
“The bigger point is, the message was received. I think a lot influenced his very sudden change in heart,” she said.
“It may have seemed like tough love, or a harsh reality check, but putting it into practice has been fairly gentle. I have seen him trying to be more conscientious,” she explained. “Only time will tell — But as for this week, things are much better and I have high hopes.”
America certainly needs more parents willing to give their children lessons in respect and responsibility like this one to prevent them from growing up into entitled brats (i.e., liberals).
