The NFL had a terrible season last year when many disrespectful athletes took to the field to kneel in protest. For months, fans shared their disgust watching their favorite players and teams take a knee during the National Anthem essentially spitting in the face of our nation’s greatest heroes.
After weeks of ticket sales dropping and many fans boycotting the NFL may have realized that allowing players to kneel was not such a good idea and are proposing a new penalty to get these nasty players back on their feet. In a stunning proposal, NFL owners are considering implementing a new 15-yard penalty for any team who decides to kneel, and it may be just the thing to get these anti-American players to start showing some respect again.

NFL owners are reportedly considering whether to institute a new deterrent for players who decide they’d rather kneel than stand during the national anthem: A 15-yard penalty against the offending team.
During a meeting Tuesday with the owners, the league bandied the idea about after it was suggested. The discussion comes after then-San Francisco quarterback began kneeling during the anthem in the 2016-2017 NFL season to protest police brutality. Last year, even more NFL players knelt during the anthem, and the issue echoed around the country, even drawing condemnation from President Trump.
Under the proposal, the home team would decide whether the two teams playing that day would take the field in time for the anthem. They could both stay in the locker room and come out after the song is performed, but if they are on the field, a 15-yard penalty would be assessed for any team that has a player kneel, Sports Illustrated reported.“As always, conversations at league meetings are candid, thoughtful and thorough,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told HuffPost in an email early Wednesday. “The clubs explore every option and idea on any policy, and discuss the merits and drawbacks of each approach. We will continue the conversation this morning.”
The NFL’s 2017 regular season closed out with several players from a total of five teams still refusing to stand to honor the Star Spangled Banner. Despite a concerted effort from league executives and owners, who are painfully aware of all the empty seats and the declining television ratings, players from the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, New York Giants and Tennessee Titans continued to use the time dedicated to uniting around the flag to express their discontent with the country, the Daily Wire reported.
The players have a hundred other avenues to express their issues and just like any other employee of any other job they shouldn’t have been allowed to do it on the clock and definitely not on the fans’ dime. So, the consequence of all of this hoopla is that the ratings are sinking, the fans are walking, and now they may face penalties on the field. Hopefully, this will be implemented so that we can get back to watching the game and leave their nasty leftist politics out of it.
