“Refugees-welcome” activist found dead after getting ride with Refugee truck driver

A woman who was actively seeking to open the borders so that more refugees should be able to come into her county was allegedly killed by one.

28-year-old Sophia Losche from Germany was known for her activism to help refugees.

She may have been too trusting of the strangers and newcomers as she was killed while hitchhiking.

According to police, before getting into the truck, Losche sent a text message to an acquaintance with the Moroccan license plate numbers.

She was in Schkeuditz and she hitchhiked to her hometown of Bamberg. She never made it home.

Police caught and arrested the truck driver as he was trying to flee the country.

The truck driver who was identified as 41-year-old Boujemaa L. from Morocco arrived in Germany in 2015 with his wife and 4 children, three daughters 14, 10, 9, and a son, 2.

He was employed by a company near his residence. His boss, Driss Assilla, said that Boujemaa “led a normal life here and was a pleasant employee. He goes to the mosque every Friday and prays five times a day, like any Muslim.”

Boujemaa eventually confessed to the murder and led police to the body.

After missing for one week, the body of the activist was found in a grassy area at the side of a road close to a gas station.

Losche worked for a non-government organization (NGO) on the Greek island of Lesbos to help refugees. She was on her way home when she was killed.

Police are awaiting an autopsy for the cause of death. They have reportedly said that there were wounds on her body that show that she tried to fight off her attacker as he tried to sexually assault her.
