NFL Makes Announcement About Protesting Athletes

This statement is foolhardy, obtuse, and down right disrespectful to every fan, military veteran, first responder, and active duty military personnel who risk their lives daily to protect America. What DeMaurice Smith fails to realize is that taking a knee during the national anthem is disrespectful, and there is no logical way to excuse it. Secondly, Mr. Smith has the audacity to tell us little people what the flag stands for? As if somehow all the fans that are boycotting the NFL don’t know what the flag stands for. It is not bravery and courage to take a knee during the national anthem. Bravery and courage is running into a storm of bullets to save your buddies, or when a medic has to apply a tourniquet to a patient whose leg has just been blown off. This statement released by the head of the NFLPA reaffirms these self-entitled crybaby players offer nothing of substance and are only part time social justice warriors not interested in actually bringing about change.

On the official NFLPA Twitter page, this sentiment of continuing to disrespect America and the flag was reaffirmed. “Commissioner Roger Goodell reached out to the NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith today and both he and player leadership will attend league meetings next week. There has been no change in the current policy regarding the anthem. The agenda will be a continuation of how to make progress on the important social issues that players have vocalized. Everyone who is part of our NFL community has a tremendous respect for our country, our flag, our anthem and out military, and we are coming together to deal with these issues in a civil and constructive way.”

These statements from the NFLPA and DeMaurice Smith are shameful, to say the least. What the NFLPA, DeMaurice Smith, the players, and Commissioner Roger Goodell failed to understand is that their actions are disrespectful and offensive. To date, the NFL has suffered severe financial consequences, which apparently the owners took notice of, but the NFLPA and the NFL leadership are still behind the curve. Additionally, what NFLPA and the NFL are missing is that simply taking a knee to protest is not going to fix anything, nor is taking a knee during the national anthem the time or place to protest. These players and DeMaurice Smith should put their money where their mouth is and do something of substance like come up with a plan to stop the hundreds of young black teens killing each other in Chicago. However, they will do no such thing because they are simply pawns of the lunatic left. These wannabe SJW’s are only interested in attention, but soon they will see there will be no fans to care what they have to say.
