Black Lives Matter is livid at new House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi.
Townhall reported on the controversy.
“… She seemed caught off guard by a young woman, a student named Shelly Ward, who asked the speaker if she supported the “Black Lives Matter” movement. Pelosi mumbled something, before saying, ‘all lives matter.’”

“Well I support the recognition that black lives matter for sure,” Pelosi said in response. “And I have incorporated that in many of my statements. I think all lives matter, yes. But we really have to redress past grievances in terms of how we have addressed the African-American community.”
The answer did not appear to appease the questioner.
And it started a firestorm on Twitter.
“Do you support the Black Lives Matter movement?”@SpeakerPelosi:
"I support the recognition that
black lives matter, for sure, and I have incorporated that in many of my statements. ALL LIVES MATTER…”Threw that in for the good white folks.

How hard is it to say, "Black lives matter, period"? Then pivot to "That's why we're introducing legislation to reform our criminal justice system, pass Medicare for All, increase school funding, raise the wage to $15/hr, and implement a federal jobs guarantee." Oh wait…

Not the right answer @SpeakerPelosi – All Lives Matter is not the point!

In our lexicon, “all lives matter” is nothing more than a delegitimizing retort to those who say that black lives matter. The way Pelosi speaks here implies that she doesn’t fully grasp that. Still. Also discouraging is her garbled language about “past” black grievances. https://t.co/XLu3nd4ogv
