The thing that people need to realize about certain things is that you are allowed to do them because you have the right to. Want to eat a pint of ice cream every night before bed? That’s your right.
Want to own a gun? That’s your right too. The problem lies in that there are some people that for some reason don’t understand exactly what rights are and want to tell you that you can’t do things even though you are perfectly allowed to.
I have a friend that has a handicapped thing on his car and uses it whenever he has to park somewhere. The issue is that he doesn’t look on the surface like he needs it. That’s because the amputation was just above the ankle. You wouldn’t believe the number of people that come up to him and actually take the time to tell him he doesn’t look handicapped enough to be using the spot.
Anyway, when it comes to guns, you shouldn’t need special permission to carry one, but here we are…
Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert just won a battle that no one believed she could. The freshman representative and gun rights activist has been granted a concealed carry permit in Washington, D.C.
“As we do with all our permits, if citizens are allowed to carry, then we grant them a permit. In this case, she was allowed to carry and she was granted a permit. And yes, we did reach out to the office,” he added.
The gun rights activist stirred up some controversy in January when she clashed with Capitol police after triggering a metal detector in the Capitol building and ignoring it.
Boebert has vowed to carry her firearm in both Washington, D.C. and in Congress, despite the insistence from her Democrat colleagues that it would make them “uncomfortable.”
Democrats are “Scared”
Far-left Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told CNN’s Chris Cuomo in an interview near the end of January that “a very considerable amount” of lawmakers on Capitol Hill “still don’t feel safe around other members of Congress.”
It’s blatantly obvious to most conservatives that the Democrats claims of feeling unsafe around their colleagues are just being used to score political points and demonize Republican members of Congress. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made that apparent with her recent outrageous claims on Twitter about Senator Ted Cruz.
