We all knew that the Derek Chauvin trail was nothing but a total farce, to begin with, but this new turn of events just solidifies that original thought even more. First off, let me just say that Chauvin is not the most sympathetic person for the defense to defend, but that doesn’t mean he was guilty of first-degree murder and every other crime the prosecution decided to pin on him.
It was a total political hit job.
Now that the trial is over there has already been talking that Chauvin’s conviction could possibly be overturned due to Maxine Waters threats of violence, and now there is this.
Many people were wondering about the “impartiality” of the jurors in the Derek Chauvin murder trial has been another issue in question for weeks now. A new photo of juror Brandon Mitchell has emerged that has drastically increased the likelihood of an appeal from Chauvin’s defense team.
The picture from August of 2020 shows Mitchell wearing a shirt that says “Get Your Knees Off Our Necks”, clearly aimed at Chauvin and the Police.
Here’s the photo:
According to jury consultant Alan Tuerkheimer, Mitchell’s questionnaire answers could lead to an appeal by Chauvin’s attorney. The judge could also call Mitchell in for questioning, Tuerkheimer added.
“That could change the outcome of things; if there is anything that makes him seem that he was not forthcoming, it could be an avenue for the judge to reconsider the case,” Tuerkheimer told the Washington Post.
Meanwhile, civil rights attorney Brian Dunn told the Washington Post that the photo is “undeniably suggestive of a possible bias in this juror.”
Here’s more from the NY Post about what specific questions were posed to Mitchell during the selection process:
“During the jury selection process, each prospective juror is required to answer a questionnaire that includes questions about participation in demonstrations and protests.
“Did you, or someone close to you, participate in any of the demonstrations or marches against police brutality that took place in Minneapolis after George Floyd’s death?” one question read, according to the newspaper.
The other asked: “Other than what you have already described above, have you, or anyone close to you, participated in protests about police use of force or police brutality?”
If the evidence shows that Mitchell lied while answering these questions, there is a very high likelihood that this could go to a mistrial.
In fact, this juror has screwed up so bad that even left-wing news sites are admitting that the trial verdict is in jeopardy.
