A man in Ireland got the last laugh at his funeral by pranking mourners with a message from beyond the grave.
A funeral is traditionally seen as a somber time of reflection and sadness, a time for family and friends to come together to grieve for their loved one. But Shay Bradley, a Dublin man who died at age 62, had other ideas.
Instead of tears of sadness, Bradley was banking on tears of laughter as he set up a graveside prank so epic, it immediately went viral all over the internet.
Bradley died on October 8 after a three-year battle with cancer. His last wish was to spook his friends and family – which he did so by getting his eldest son to play a pre-recorded message at his funeral. The grandfather of eight managed to get the last laugh at his own funeral with the clever prank.
“Hello? Hello. Hello? Let me out!” shocked attendees heard during the funeral as his coffin was being lowered into the ground in Kilmanagh, Kilkenny, on October 12.
“Let me out,” Bradley’s voice in the pre-recorded message continued. “Is that a priest I can hear? This is Shay, I’m in the box.”

The hilarious video concluded with Bradley singing a line from a Neil Diamond song that went like “Hello again, hello. I just called to say, goodbye”
After the video went viral, Shay’s daughter stated that it was her dad’s wish before he died and got really emotional when she said that her dad was always the one playing pranks and gave everybody a hearty laugh. Lastly, she added that he was a man who was dearly loved by everyone.
