A Belgian man who was robbed of his gold necklace by possibly a ladyboy who hugged him while he was walking down Sukhumvit road filed a complaint at Lumpini police station as he really wants the chain given to him by his dad back.
25-year-old Frederik de Vreese was filming as he walked through the Sukhumvit Road area of Bangkok on Tuesday night.
While filming, a woman wearing a face mask approaches him and puts her arms around his neck, and offers sexual services. You can see the woman run her hands around the necklace, seemingly looking for the clasp while asking: “Where you go, honey? I go to your room, I go f*** you.”
Thankfully, de Vreese recorded the entire thing on video. While he was walking along the road in Bangkok, he recorded a video of himself for posterity. As a result, the theft was recorded for all to see.
The resident of Ghent, Belgium has been staying in Thailand for more than a year and is currently studying at a private school in Bangkok to learn Thai.

While I’m doing my explanation about the district, one of those ladyboys flies around my neck. ‘Where are you going, honey? Let’s go to your room’, she says as she pushes herself against my body and puts her arm around my neck”, says Frederik.
Frederik later watched back the video and saw he had been robbed from right under his nose – but by the time he saw the clip, it was too late to find her.
He has since reported the theft to the police, who have launched an investigation.
Frederik said:
“The chain belonged to my grandfather, it was in the family for many years. I think it was worth around €800 (£673).”
“I’m devastated. It had a lot of sentimental value. I think the thief was part of a gang. She had a very distinctive tattoo so I hope that people can help to track her down.”

The police have already launched their investigation in an effort to find de Vreese his missing gold chain.

Frederic de Vreese fell victim to the pickpocket along Sukhumvit Road, which is a famous street in Bangkok, Thailand, known for its nightlife. Tourists flock to the area’s high-rise hotels and enjoy shopping at local malls and getting drinks at bars in Soi Cowboy and the Nana Plaza.
When de Vreese spoke to the Thai police, they asked him a lot of questions about his relationship with the woman who stole his gold chain. He confirmed that he had never met her before she gave him a kiss.
Now, Thai police are looking for the woman and plan to charge her with “stealing by stealth at night” if they can catch her. Crimes that are committed during the nighttime are considered to be more punishable than the same crime committed while the sun is up.
A Bangkok police spokesperson said, “Officers at Lumphini Police Station are now checking CCTV cameras at the scene to speed up the identification of the perpetrators to prosecute them as soon as possible.”
Despite his devastating experience, Frederik does not intend to leave Bangkok anytime soon. “It was actually my first bad experience here. For the rest, I’m having a good time here. I’m thinking about staying here for a long time. I am considering starting a business here with a friend,” he concludes.
