Larry Pearson, 36, was found “guilty of two counts of harassment of a public servant” after spitting on a cop responding to a domestic violence incident.
Pearson allegedly punched a woman in the face multiple times, prompting police to respond.
Pearson has a history of violence, which was a factor in his sentencing.

Texas man was reportedly sentenced to 70 years in prison for spitting at Lubbock police officers during an arrest last May.
Cops picked up Larry Pearson, 36, on domestic violence charges after he allegedly hit a woman several times in the face, leaving her with “multiple visible injuries,” according to EverythingLubbock.com.
Pearson allegedly got angry when officers didn’t arrest the victim, and started kicking the door of the police cruiser. When two cops opened the door to demand he stop, Pearson spit at them and kept doing so even after he got to the Lubbock County Detention Center, the website said.
Jurors later found him guilty of two counts of harassment of a public servant.
During the trial’s closing arguments, prosecutor Jessica Gorman asked the jury to “send a message” to both the suspect and society with its sentencing.

A Texas man was sentenced to 70 years in prison Wednesday after he was found guilty of harassing a public servant for spitting at Lubbock police officers.
Larry Pearson, 36, was arrested in May 2022 for domestic violence after a victim flagged down an officer in northeast Lubbock, prosecutor Jessica Gorman said.
The victim told police that Pearson had hit her several times and that he had a gun. Gorman said that firearm turned out to be an airsoft gun.
A police report at the time stated the victim had “multiple visible injuries” on her face. Gorman said after Pearson was taken into custody, he was upset the victim was not arrested instead.
