A bizarre note found at a gas station in Arizona assisted the local sheriff’s department in foiling an abduction scheme.
A woman at a Chevron gas station in Seligman, Arizona, passed a bizarre message to another customer, according to a statement posted on the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page on Tuesday.
The note gave the customer the woman’s name, a comprehensive description of the blue van she was riding in, and instructed the customer to phone 911 and report her kidnapping.
The client dialed 911 and provided information on the woman, the man she was with, and the van, as well as directions to the police.
YCSO deputies sprung into action right away and quickly located the vehicle.
The 41-year-old male and his wife were detained without incident.
The man, Jacob Wilhoit, had allegedly kidnapped the woman from a vehicle dealership in Phoenix the day before while posing as an Uber driver. He restrained her and drove her to Las Vegas, where she spent the night at Lake Mead.
Wilhoit was arrested and charged with harassing, threatening, and intimidation, aggravated assault, unlawful imprisonment, kidnapping, and additional assaults. Wilhoit’s automobile also had a number of guns.
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, the YCSO deputies, and the Department of Public Safety thanked the customer and the victim for their quick thinking and action, eventually saving the day.
“The victim’s extraordinary action in passing the note, the customer’s willingness to assist, and the quick actions of YCSO and DPS saved the victim from her kidnapper and allowed her to return home with her family,” the Facebook statement read.
To be honest, the woman and the customer deserve all of the accolades they are receiving. In a comparable situation, how many of us would act as promptly and clearly as they did?
This was certainly a terrifying circumstance for both of them, and the fact that they were able to think on their feet at that point demonstrates their strength.
But, despite the relentless vilification from the left, this incident highlights once again the significant contributions that our law enforcement officers provide to our communities.
The police’s quick response after getting the tip guaranteed that the kidnapper was apprehended.
In an age where the media and the left vilify heroic law enforcement officers as “racists,” it is vital to remember that they are the ones who prevent criminals like him from running rampant and harming even more people.
At this point, it has been repeatedly proved that when police are weakened in the name of communist ideology, crime skyrockets, and communities devolve into chaos.
However, when given the authority to enforce the law and the support of the authorities and the public, law enforcement does enormous good for the people they serve and protect.
This Arizona incident is a prime example of this. The police handled the case admirably; the culprit was apprehended without incident, and the woman was able to return home to her family securely.
This is a fantastic example of law enforcement at its finest.
