A recent social media post by a celebrity couple caused controversy and drew attention from fans and fellow celebrities alike.
Kelly Ripa, a 50-year-old American television host, recently posted a photo of herself and her husband, Mark Consuelos, on Instagram. In the picture, Ripa is seen in a bathing suit, bent over, while Consuelos stands behind her with a stunned expression. The caption reads, “When the end is in sight…….”
The post sparked various reactions from several celebrities, with Lisa Rinna commenting, “This is just epic. Period. I don’t even have anything clever to say. It’s just hot!” Similarly, Andy Cohen wrote, “This is the best pic you’ve ever posted,” and Mindy Kaling added, “I love this.”
However, many fans were curious to know what the couple’s 20-year-old daughter, Lola, had to say about the photo. In a 2020 interview with People magazine, Lola criticized her mother’s “thirst trap” photos of Consuelos, calling them “disgusting.” She had also commented on Ripa’s butt selfie, calling it “ridiculous.”
On a cameo appearance on “Live With Kelly and Ryan” in March 2020, Lola discussed social distancing with her parents. She stated that being home with her family was “great” and that they had more family time than usual.
When asked if she had learned anything new about her family, she responded, “I don’t know. They do weird things all the time, so it’s not anything new. It’s just I’m remembering everything I forgot at college!”
This is not the first time Ripa and Consuelos’ social media posts have caused controversy. In 2019, they shared a story on “Live With Kelly and Ryan” about the time Lola accidentally walked in on them having sex.
Lola had even “made eye contact” with them, according to Ripa. When they went out to brunch later that day, Lola told them that they “act like they’re 20, but [they’re] not.
Despite Lola’s criticism, Ripa and Consuelos continue to share their intimate moments with their followers. In 2020, Ripa posted a photo of her gown for the Oscars, with her producer, Albert Bianchini, humorously pretending to hide under her skirt. Consuelos commented on the post, “Been there..”
However, Lola was not amused and commented, “Absolutely repulsive.” Albert responded to Lola, saying, “You came out there first Boo! #OrSecond.” Ripa joked, “Nobody came out of there. They were all C-sections. Thanks for the memories guys.”
