Theresa Rose, a 36-year-old woman, had the wildest idea to surprise her husband for his birthday: she organized a fantasy threesome with another woman. Little did the lucky man know that this experience would change their lives forever.
The couple, together with the other woman, engaged in the intimate act, which turned out to be incredibly enjoyable for him. But the real surprise came a few weeks later when Theresa filed for divorce. The reason? The threesome had revealed to her that she was a lesbian who had been trapped in a heterosexual marriage all these years.
The pivotal encounter took place in 2020 and involved Theresa, her husband, and the other woman. As Theresa experienced intimacy with another woman for the first time, she discovered her long-hidden attraction towards the same sex.
Feeling a sense of urgency, Theresa made the decision to end her marriage and filed for divorce. Reflecting on the threesome, she told the New York Post, “Experiencing that intimate interaction with a woman for the first time, the physical and emotional depth was [so intense].”
Merely three weeks after ending her marriage, Theresa began dating a woman named Jacqui Mettle. The newfound love between the two blossomed, and they now share a deep, loving relationship.
Theresa explained, “After being with that woman, I said to myself, ‘This is why I’ve been so unhappy in my marriage.’ My relationship with my husband, emotionally, felt so shallow and lonely compared to my connection with the woman.”
Raised in a devout Catholic family, Theresa had grown up believing that “all gays go to Hell.” This anti-LGBTQ conditioning caused her to suppress her true feelings until the threesome made it impossible to ignore them. When she finally revealed the truth to her husband, he responded with hostility and informed her “very conservative” parents about her sexuality. Soon, their Bible study group found out, and Theresa was ostracized from the community she once cherished.
As a mother of two children, Theresa faced immense responsibilities and struggled with the pain of rejection to the point of contemplating suicide. However, fate had a different plan for her. Meeting Jacqui Mettle brought her life back on track, and the couple has now been together for over a year. They recently relocated from California to Oregon, where they have a house and intend to raise Theresa’s two sons, aged six and eight, together.
Embracing her newfound identity, Theresa shares her journey on her TikTok account, @Raising2Activists, which has amassed more than 100,000 followers. “It feels so free to finally live authentically,” she expressed, grateful for the chance to live life as her true self.
