President Trump is fighting back like the Democrats never imagined he would. When all is said and done, Trump will be the one left standing on the rubble and Obama’s secret service agent is predicting that very thing.
The constant innuendo printed in the press and posted online that had come from the leaks originating from the holdover Obama loyalists was growing from the “water torture” drip-by-drip to a constant flow.
On Inauguration Day, The New York Times had printed a report rife with unnamed sources and unattributed quotes including this, “One official said intelligence reports based on some of the wiretapped communications had been provided to the White House,” which makes it clear that the so-called “Newspaper of Record,” the former gold standard of reporting was putting its reputation on the line.
But in its zeal to smear the new president on the morning of his inauguration, the Times perhaps overreached and just over a month later, may find that it’s breathless reporting of “wiretapped communications,” landed its hero, Barack Obama, in a difficult, if not felonious, position.
Disguising an editorial hit piece behind the well-worn claim, “All spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the cases,” the Times was waging war against the president they still cannot accept, and finally, that president called their bluff.
At a little after 6 am, ET, on Saturday, March 4 Donald Trump threw down the gauntlet in 22 words, taking only 112 characters, less than the 140 available in Twitter.
“Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”
Now, either the liberal media has a choice – either back up the claim that wiretapping took place even as Obama and his camp deny it, or step away from the narrative and admit that the campaign to discredit Trump was a failure.
Adding to that scenario were the tweets from former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino who has stirred speculation with two posts, the first coming just 12 hours after the president’s.
Bongino hinted, “#ObamaGate is going to blow wide-open this week,” before promising, “I’ll be sharing more about the Obama administration this week, it’s time.”
The blunt-spoken Bongino, who was a New York cop before joining the Secret Service as a special agent, served on the presidential protection detail for President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama from 2006 through 2011.
