President Donald Trump would like to compete again with the former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the presidential election in 2020.
On October 16, President Donald Trump has posted a series of tweets regarding the stock market, tax reform and ended everything up with a throwback to his victory against his competitor Hillary Clinton. He announces this hopes to rematch with Clinton.
“I was recently asked if Crooked Hillary Clinton is going to run in 2020?” Trump tweeted out. “My answer was, ‘I hope so!”
On the same day, President Trump has notified the Federal Elections Commission that he has met the legal threshold for filing for reelection in 2020 although he has not formally announced her candidacy.
Clinton was front-runner during the 2016 election raw votes but she was eventually defeated by Trump in the electoral college. While Trump expressed his interest to compete with her again, Clinton asserted that has no interest in running another campaign.
“I am done with being a candidate,” the former Democratic nominee said. “But I am not done with politics because I literally believe that our country’s future is at stake.”
Public Policy Polling conducted a survey on July 18. The result of the survey proves that several possible Democratic nominees for 2020 would hypothetically defeat Trump, with none of them being Clinton.
According to US News, during a press conference later Monday, Trump reiterated his hope that Clinton runs again in 2020 but also said that her disrespect for America – evidenced by her support for NFL players protesting during the national anthem – was “why she lost.”
However, Trump has not escaped from his critics after he has expressed his desire to rematch with Clinton. Trump critics posted their comments on Facebook.
“Yes, I voted against Trump and I feel I was right. Trump has proven he is not qualified on so many levels.”
