REVEALED: Driving An Electric Car May The Worst Thing You Can Do For The Environment!

EVs are better at almost everything, but more power doesn’t always mean more fun.

As prices have soared for literally everything from gas prices to food and rent every day, using an electric car as a solution to record-high gas prices seems to avert the worst.

Inflation has grown fastest over the year since Biden became the President. Rapid price hikes may have seemed like a relic of the distant past. Year-over-year inflation averaged about 2.3% a month and exceeded 5.0% only four times.

People are experiencing inflationary whiplash.

Gas prices raised to $5 per gallon an increase of more than 58 cents from just a month, and Americans now, choose EV as what Biden pushes not knowing the consequences.

Engineer and energy specialist Ronald Stein analyzes the source of electricity and the materials in batteries in a column featured by Powerline writer John Hinderaker. He concludes that electric vehicles are terrible for the environment, and the conditions under which the materials are mined present severe ethical concerns.

In a column titled “Is it ethical to acquire a lithium battery powered EV?” Stein claims that a single lithium supply mine can destroy entire mountains.

Stein wrote that “each mine usually consists of thirty-five to forty humongous 797 Caterpillar haul trucks along with hundreds of other large equipment, each 797 uses around half a million gallons of diesel a year. So, with an inventory of just thirty-five the haul trucks alone are using 17.5 million gallons of fuel a year for just one lithium site.”

A average electric vehicle battery weighs 1,000 pounds, with 25 pounds of lithium, 60 pounds of nickel, 44 pounds of manganese, 30 pounds of cobalt, 200 pounds of copper, and 400 pounds of aluminum, steel, and plastic, according to Stein. Over 6,000 lithium-ion batteries are contained within.

“It should concern you that all those toxic components come from mining,” he writes. “For instance, to manufacture each EV auto battery, you must process 25,000 pounds of brine for the lithium, 30,000 pounds of ore for the cobalt, 5,000 pounds of ore for the nickel, and 25,000 pounds of ore for copper. All told, you dig up 500,000 pounds of the earth’s crust for just one battery.”

After all, an electric vehicle (EV) does not generate power; it just stores it. Coal, uranium, natural gas-fired power stations, and, on rare occasions, wind and sun are the primary sources.

“To suggest an EV is a zero-emission car is not at all valid,” argues Stein, because “80% of the electricity generated to charge the batteries is derived from coal, natural gas, and nuclear.”

In effect, 20% of the EVs on the road are powered by coal, 40% by natural gas and 20% by nuclear power.

Hinderaker concludes that “Green” energy is a catastrophically bad idea. I think many people understand that wind and solar power and electric vehicles are economically ruinous, but when we also take into account environmental degradation and child and slave labor, one can seriously question whether it is immoral to buy an electric car.
