Democrats are having a problem as they appear to be gearing up to pull, push, or carry President Joe Biden to victory in the upcoming presidential race.
In a study conducted by Echelon Insights of probable voters in competitive states, it was shown that 48 percent of respondents said they would likely or unquestionably support former President Donald Trump over Vice President Joe Biden.
Undecided respondents made up 11%.
Just 40% of respondents in swing states favored Biden, compared to 43% who supported Trump.
The president has issues, even within his own party.
Democrats said they would back someone other than Biden, with 34 percent in battleground states and 33 percent overall. For the president, that represents a sizable deficit.
In the crucial battleground states of Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin in the 2020 presidential election, Biden decisively defeated Trump, despite the fact that Trump has contested those results.
The margin of error for the Echelon Insights poll, which was conducted from June 26 to June 29, was plus or minus 3.9%.
In the Democratic primary, 65 percent of potential Democratic voters supported Joe Biden, 14 percent backed Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and 4 percent supported motivational speaker Marianne Williamson.
When given the names of Biden, Kennedy, and Williamson alone, 6% of respondents responded “someone else,” and 11% indicated they weren’t sure.
All of this begs the question of how Democrats can win an election with an 80-year-old candidate whose cognitive impairment is getting harder to hide or justify.

Biden wasn’t very smart in the 2020 election; he scarcely campaigned while Trump carried himself like a rock star, attracting large crowds wherever he went.
And with an estimated 50,000 people attending his events during the Fourth of July weekend, Trump appears to be reenacting his performances from three years ago.
Echelon asked prospective 2024 voters to select between Biden, Trump, and Cornel West if the election were held now, outside of simply battleground states. Biden received 42% of the vote, West 4%, and Trump received 43%.
David B. Cohen, a political science professor at the University of Akron, believes that West may end up being a spoiler because of how closely the main GOP and Democratic candidates, Trump and Biden, are tied.
“There is always a danger a third-party candidate can impact the electoral college results, particularly if they receive enough votes in a battleground state or states to change the outcome,” Cohen told Newsweek.
“In a close election, Cornel West could well be a spoiler,” he said. “There is no evidence to suggest that the 2024 election will be anything but a very close election decided by razor-thin margins, which means that a third-party candidate could have an outsized influence in the result.”
According to The History Channel, less than 3% of the popular vote that went to consumer activist and third-party candidate Ralph Nader in the 2000 election could have cost Democrat Al Gore the hotly contested victory that went to Republican George W. Bush.
Nothing can be predicted with only 16 months till the 2024 presidential election.
